On Wednesday 27 April 2016, Mark Nelson (1977) and Louise Nelson graciously opened their home for the annual Sydney reunion. This is becoming a must on the Sydney calendar, the event was attended by over 80 members of the Queen’s Community including Wyverns, parents and staff. The relaxed evening provided a great opportunity for all attending to re-connect with old friends, to connect with Sydney based Wyverns and to hear an update from the College.
With magnificent uninterrupted views of the Sydney harbour bridge, a notable art collection, 5-star food and beverages, it is understandable that the event ran slightly longer than anticipated. The Wyvern Society and Queen’s College greatly appreciated Mark and Louise’s generosity.
The next day the tour continued with members of the College staff and the Deputy Arch Wyvern heading to Canberra. That evening the Canberra reunion was held at University House, Australia National University. A more intimate affair, over 30 Wyverns gathered, shared a drink and stories of times at Queen’s.  During the Master’s update, Bob Newman (1947), highlighted that it had been too long (5 years) since the last event in Canberra. There was general consensus in the room that more regular, if informal, events should be arranged in Canberra. Some great networking opportunities followed particularly within the public service, as many attending Wyvern’s worked at an array of federal departments and agencies.
