We welcomed Dr Jackie Huggins AM FAHA to present our annual Indigenous Oration last week. A proud Bidjara Birri-Guba Juru woman from Queensland, historian, and author, she spoke passionately about ‘At the Crossroads: Voice, Treaty, Truth.’

Our students benefited from hearing Jackie’s experiences as someone who has been deeply involved in indigenous issues from the 2017 Uluru Statement from the Heart through to her current positions on the National Apology Foundation, First Nations Peoples Strategic Advisory Group, member of the Disability Royal Commission, First Nations Advisory Committee at the Australian War Memorial, and First Nations Messaging Project in Australian Progress.

The Oration was recorded and can be viewed on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwY2SzRicE4
