We were honoured to have John McCarthy AO as our speaker at the recent Sugden Oration. As a former Australian career diplomat, with posts including ambassadorships to Vietnam, Mexico, Thailand, the United States, Indonesia, Japan and India, McCarthy provided great insight into the need for Australia to focus more on foreign policy.

A lengthy Q&A session after the oration demonstrated the keen interest from the audience in the ideas and concepts McCarthy had raised during the night.
