Australia Day Honours

Congratulations to the following Wyverns who received Order of Australia honours on Australia Day. Their distinguished service has impacted many in the Australian community and abroad.

Dr Murray C KEMP AO (1945)

Received an Officer of the Order of Australia award for distinguished service to education as an economic theorist and academic, to international trade, through contributions to leading professional publications, and as a mentor.

Dr Harry HEMLEY AM (1969)

Recipient of the Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to medicine through delivering health care to the homeless, and as a general practitioner.

Dr John R HOWES OAM (1953)

Recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to education and to the community.

Queen’s Birthday Wyvern honours list

Queen’s College celebrated along with the following Wyverns as they received Queen’s Birthday honours for distinguished contributions to the Australian and wider international communities.

Mr Gilbert C Docking OAM (1949)

Received an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday honours list for service to the arts as a gallery director.

Rev Denis Oakley OAM (1963)

Received an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to children through social welfare organizations.

Dr Stewart F Routledge AO (1964)

Received an AO in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for distinguished service to veterinary science, particularly the provision of technical assistance in developing countries and to business through promoting Australian interests internationally.

Mr Ion W Whykes OAM (1952)

Received an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for service to the community of Healesville
