Open Day 17 August 2014
Open Day – 17 August 2014
Join us at our Open Day on August 17 from 9 – 4 pm to get a taste of the richness and excitement of residential life at Queen’s.
Find out why our College has developed the fine reputation it has over its 125 years history and speak to those who make it the fantastic community it is today!
Discover for yourself.
Come and spend some time with us to discover this for yourself. Take an individual tour with one of our undergraduate or graduate residents and receive an all-access opportunity to explore ‘the Queen’s experience’ from an authentic student perspective.
Gain a first-hand appreciation of the many benefits of living in a University learning environment where fellow residents come from diverse backgrounds locally, regionally and from overseas and why Queen’s offers far more than just the very best features of residential community life.
Gain an insight into the excellent tutorial and mentoring support programs we offer to enhance our students’ academic performance and potential, and meet some of the staff who make this happen. Enjoy a snapshot of our vibrant co-curricular music and performing arts programs and get a sense of how important sport is to Queen’s College residents, whatever form that takes!
Meet our Master, Professor David Runia and his staff who will be on-hand all day to answer any question you may have. You can even get to know some of our previous residents – our Wyvern members – who will be able to share their reflections on life at Queen’s, and what they gained during their university years by belonging to a supportive and vibrant community such as ours.
Our Open Day programme:
- Take a personalised tour of the Queen’s campus with a current student and see everything that’s important to a Queener including the Eakins Dining Hall, Junior Common Room, the Nicholas Laboratories, Featonby library
- Have a peek into some individual resident rooms
- Chat to current students about their views of ‘the Queen’s community’
- Learn about our tutorial and pastoral care programs, the clubs and social activities we offer and hear about the many opportunities you can have at Queen’s to pursue your love of sport, music, drama, dance, volunteering & much more
