Girls' Hockey Victory
Congratulations to the Queen’s women’s field-hockey team 2014 champions! For the second year in a row, Queen’s defeated Ormond to claim the Women’s Hockey Premiership.
It was a tough and competitive match, with large numbers of residents from both colleges present to cheer for their team. Ormond was first to score a goal near the end of the first half, but Queen’s stood their ground and evened the score in the second half. The 1-1 tie remained even after extra time was given and so the match came down to a penalty shoot-out.
The saves and goals were closely matched until the very end when Queen’s managed to make a save and score a goal to come away with a hard-won victory. The ensuing cheers of the mob of green and yellow players and supporters were heard at every college around the crescent.
