Wyverns will recall that the annual Fellows’ dinner in May is always one of the highlights of the year. And one of the highlights of the dinner is the awarding of a new batch of Wyvern medals. These are donated to the College by the Wyvern Society in recognition of the academic achievements of its students. In order to qualify, it is necessary to attain a first-class honours average for a full semester’s work.
On 20 May 2015, the Principal Fellow, the Hon David Habersberger, presented no less than 36 medals to the deserving recipients accompanied by thundering applause. The medals were awarded for the academic results of second semester 2014. Of the recipients 14 were current students and 22 were young Wyverns who left the College at the end of last year. It was great to welcome them back to the College and it was apparent how much they enjoyed being back at the scene of so many great memories.
