Aedificamus Official Launch
The 2013 edition of the Queen’s College student journal Aedificamus was officially launched on Thursday, October 31 at an event hosted by the Master, Professor David Runia. In front of an audience of special guests which included the Editorial Board and many contributors to this rigorous academic publication – clear testimony to the extraordinarily diverse interests and writing talents of our residents – the 2013 Aedificamus was officially launched by Helen Brown, a distinguished international bestselling children’s author and mother of the 2013 Queen’s Collegian of the Year, Ms Kat Gantry. In Helen’s address to the gathering, she remarked on the fascinating and varied content of the journal and the exceptionally high literary and scholarly standards evident in each of the articles. From essays investigating the origins of the Nazi Euthanasia Program to the implications of the growth of nano technology in Australia to compelling creative pieces and reflections on quirky subjects such as the mating habits of land snails, the content of this year’s Aedificamus has something for everyone.
