Virtual Tour of Queen’s College
Here is the extended version of the virtual tour video that was shown during Open Day.
Live Tour of Queen’s College with Q&A
Here is a recording of the 2.30pm tour conducted during our Open Day in September. It includes the Q&A session at the end and a shortened version of the virtual tour video above.
Q&A
Below is a compilation of a few of the questions and answers that were provided over the three sessions on Open Day.
Q. Do you accept RMIT students?
A. Yes! We also take students from VCA (Victorian College of the Arts).
Q. Are there many rural or interstate students at Queen’s?
A. We have an incredibly diverse community. This year, roughly 50% of our students are from interstate, about 25% are rural students, and 20% from overseas.
Q. Are there rules against having extra guests come in?
A. Due to the pandemic, no visitors are permitted on campus. However, in a normal year, there are no restrictions on friends visiting. Guests are always welcome as long as they are respectful of the space and the other people that live here.
Q. Can students stay in College between semesters?
A. Yes. We have accommodation options over summer and winter breaks. We also have storage for those who return home during those breaks and don’t wish to take all their belongings home.
Q. What is the LGBTIQ+ support like?
A. Our College has a huge diversity of students and that includes sexuality – we welcome all types. We have a ‘Pride’ representative who can direct you to the right resources and also ensure that those community members have a presence and voice within our community.
Q. What sort of people are you after at Queen’s?
A. We seek students who are community minded and keen to give things a go. We welcome students who aren’t quite sure who they are yet or what their passions are because Queen’s fosters your discovery of that. We have such a diverse program and opportunities for everyone to learn and grow together. It’s not something you get anywhere else and it really is something our community cherishes. We are the College that was founded on the ethos of welcoming everybody so our selection criteria is more about you as an individual than where you come from or us trying to meet a quota.
Applications for 2021 are now open!
