The Choir of Queen’s College in Concert

Date: Sunday 23 October

Venue Location: Christ Church Anglican Church, 27 Ford Street, Beechworth (corner Ford and Church Streets)

Time: The Concert will begin at 2.30pm and run for approximately 1 hour.

Please join us after the concert at the Empire Hotel, 1st Floor Private Function space, 10 Camp St, Beechworth VIC 3747, post concert for drinks and canapés.

The Choir will sing works including settings of German folksongs by Brahms, his ravishing Geistliches Lied, Mendelssohn’s youthful Verleih uns Frieden, and Bach’s cantata O Jesu Christ, meins Lebens Licht. College organist David Agg will play chorale preludes by Brahms on the 1882 Anderson organ and soloists Rebekah Weaich (soprano scholar) and John Weretka (Director of the Choir) will sing selections from the rarely performed Rheinberger Sechs religiöse Gesänge and Brahms’ Vier ernste Gesänge (with Sandra Williams, associate artist).
